It has to be said that no-one needs a mortgage broker. It’s rather more a question of want. When we say that you don’t need a broker, we mean that there is no legal requirement to use one and the fact that we are available to give you advice does not mean that you have to use a broker in order to get a good mortgage deal.
Using a mortgage broker means that you get to check out lots of deals with many lenders. We work with lenders all over the UK and are able to quickly locate the best deal for you and your circumstances. We might find two or three that are suitable and then drill down to find the one that truly shines. Of course, you can hunt for a mortgage provider yourself online but many people simply don’t have the time or the inclination to do so. It’s difficult when you have no idea where to start and what is a good deal in any case? You might feel ‘Why not leave it to the specialists?’
Using a broker can save you a lot of time and stress. We handle everything from searching for a deal to applying and communicating with the lender on your behalf.
Mortgage brokers have specialist knowledge of the current market meaning that we can recommend deals that suit your personal situation. We also have access to software that allows us to search mortgage deals much faster than you can yourself.
As brokers, we know which lenders are most likely to accept you and avoid wasting time on lenders that probably won’t. Also, if you take out a mortgage using a broker you have the right to complain if the mortgage turns out to be unsuitable.
