UK Residential Property Transactions Rise 1% in February

UK Residential

According to the latest data from HMRC, residential property transactions in the UK saw a 1% increase in February, totalling 82,940 transactions.

This marks the second consecutive month of growth in residential property transactions, as per seasonally adjusted figures. However, compared to the same period last year, transaction levels were down by 6% on a seasonally adjusted basis. On a non-seasonally adjusted basis, February recorded 73,360 residential property transactions, indicating a 3% decrease from the previous year but a notable 9% increase from January.

These figures suggest a mixed trend in the residential property market, with recent months showing signs of recovery despite year-on-year declines
