Having been reappointed as the levelling up secretary, Michael Gove has reinstated the Conservative Manifesto target of 300,000 homes a year. Speaking to the BBC, Gove revealed that the target will remain in place – despite the promises made by Liz Truss to bring an end to housing targets as a whole.
In the interview, Gove stated: “We need to build more homes – we need to build more homes for people to own, we also need to build more homes for social rent, we need to build more council houses, more housing association homes. We need to build the right homes in the right places”.
