The latest research conducted by Warwick Estates based on data supplied by HMLR has revealed where the new build market made the most impact on the property market across 2021 based on the value of new homes sold and transaction levels.
The research taking into account the entirety of 2021 shows that throughout the year, 8714 new homes were sold across England and Wales – accounting for 1.8% of total activity within the property market.
The total value of these new build properties was just below £3.4bn, a figure that accounts for 2% of the total value of homes sold across the whole market. The highest performing areas of the country have also been revealed, with London somewhat predictably being the biggest new build market in the nation for transactions – with 1469 new homes being sold in the capital in 2021. The East Midlands was also a high performer with new homes accounting for 2.3% of market activity.
When it comes to market value, London again sits on the top spot with a huge £935m worth of new build homes being sold in 2021 – 2.6% of the capitals total market value.
