New Data reveals that just 1.6 million of the 5 million rental homes reach the energy target rating of C or above. The estimated cost per property to make these improvements is on average £7,646 meaning the total cost to the entire private rented sector sits at roughly 25.7 billion.

This came from research by the specialist lender Octane Capital.
